Chi-Town, USA

Chicago! Pulling into the Boystown area of Chicago, we knew we were in for a treat. Good food, friends, and fun were on the menu for our two night stay. We experienced a great street fair, fun restaurants, a chill beer garden, and downtown Chicago. Steph and I put our feet in Lake Michigan at the yacht club and let the windy city treat us with its breeze. Millenium park's art works, such as the Bean and installments from China, boldly embraced us on our walk. The architecture and city layout evoked feelings of mobsters and the famous Frank Lloyd Wright. Very art deco.

After 2 great days, we depart the "windy city" and head north only to stop in Madison, WI. We are pleasantly surprised to find a happening city with an eclectic array of ethnic fare offered here (home to the U of Wisconsin). After a very satisfying lunch we are on our way to Minneapolis. Cheers America, we are half way there!

Howlin' at the Moon

See you later Indiana! We certainly had a good time. Upon arrival we went to lunch at a Mayberry themed restaurant and then drove around the endless corn roads. The dinner festivities at Red Lobster with Danny and his family were a hoot. Downtown Indianapolis treated us to locally brewed ales and a piano bar filled with Indy 500 race fans. It had a great vibe and design. I shot my first pistol off the back deck in the yard, whilst the breezes made the corn dance. Ah, the Midwest! Onward we roll to Chicago to reunite with our freshman year suit mate Ali. What wonders the windy city will blow into our lives we have yet to discover.

Look at you out here on a big trip!

We rode in on full horse speed into the horse state! After enjoying a tour of downtown Lexington, we eventually checked-in to an extinct chestnut house for the night. After dinner at Cheapside we headed to Busters concert hall to see Of Montreal. Post-concert we found ourselves at The Green Lantern where we listened to more live music. Now onward to Indiana!

S & M Boone Style

Howdy! Daniel Boone knew a good place when he saw it, hence the beauty of Boone, NC. We arrived shortly before dark to open arms of new friends. While reminiscing over the past, friendships and memories were made, and the best backyard veggie burger was consumed within seconds. We left Boone after a hearty breakfast of seasonal fruits and homemade bread from Melonie's. A quick stop at Maw's produce stand completed the experience. Onward, to more mountains, but a new state of mind in Lexington, KY. A fabulous night with Tara and Lindsay at Of Montreal concert awaits.

Travels with Meghead & Steph-a-nut

Hitting the open road, well, maybe not all the way open, since we are going to Boone first, but it's a start! Steph-a-nut's goal of graduate school in Washington state will soon be a reality, with Meghead along for the ride!

We are out hoping to document this journey with pictures, posts, hilarious stories, and of course cool designs from all over our nation. Go America!
